New FSC APAC Policy Manager and Country Managers in India and Malaysia look to strengthen FSC’s strategic presence in Asia Pacific further

FSC Asia Pacific is excited to introduce our new staff members who will use their experience and expertise to serve our strategic goals and directions in the region.

jones.jpgEffective from 15 August 2017, Loy Jones, succeeding Jörn Struwe to be the FSC APAC Policy Manager, is bringing his more than 40 years of experience in forestry, natural resource management, planning and the forest products business across 26 countries to the organization.  He has covered all aspects from planning a project to field implementation, having vast experience in working with private companies, local, state and national governments, NGOs, as well as running his consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.  About 15 years of that experience was as an FSC auditor (forest management, CW and CoC) and he has worked either on, or as a technical advisor for, at least six different standard development groups.

“I’m very excited to actually be working inside the FSC system to close out my career considering I’ve spent the last 20 years supporting it from outside in various roles,” says Loy.  “Hopefully those years of experience will help FSC to make the system more user friendly and practical in implementation while still maintaining the very high standards and basic underlying principles the FSC was founded on.”

With Loy’s experience and reputation in the field, it will immensely benefit the National Standard development and the stakeholder engagement process of the consultation in this region.

amAmresh Deshpande (Amar) has started as the Country Manager of FSC India, effective from 16 August 2017.  Amresh has a profound experience in program management, construction sector, and digital media.
